Norma, a company specializing in Quantum security and computing, is stepping up global cooperation for the development of quantum cloud services and application programs by reaching an agreement with Finland’s VTT at MWC 2024 to provide quantum cloud services.
The company participated in the Mobile World Congress (MWC), the world’s largest IT and ICT exhibition held in Barcelona, Spain from February 26 to 29, where they unveiled and demonstrated their new product, the ‘Q Platform’, an environment for developing quantum applications. It supports up to 20 qubits and allows for rapid simulation of the latest quantum algorithms.
The Q Platform allows for predicting the results that can be obtained when running quantum computers, making it crucial for the actual adoption and utilization of quantum computers. As a result, global leading companies in quantum computing, government officials, research institutions, and other stakeholders who visited the Norma booth showed significant interest in the Q Platform.
The platform received particular attention for its differentiated capabilities, including the use of the latest artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms, references in the quantum advantage for key sectors such as finance, easy access to the development environment for global users, and reasonable service costs.
Especially Norma reached a concrete agreement with the Finland-based VTT Technical Research Centre, after last year’s MoU. Under this agreement, VTT will provide Norma with 5-qubit and 20-qubit quantum computers, which Norma will then connect to the Q Platform and offer cloud services to customers. This collaboration is expected to further enhance the security and accessibility of quantum computing.
The company plans to accelerate its quantum cloud services and develop its application through its participation in MWC and the collaboration project with VTT. In the long term, they aim to enhance the functionality of the Q Platform to increase performance up to 2000 qubits.
Norma CEO Hyun-cheol Jung stated, “Through interactions with various quantum companies at this year’s MWC, I reaffirmed the rapid advancement of quantum computing and the interest of global leaders.” He added, “Building on this participation, we will accelerate quantum cloud services and application development on the Q Platform and make it better through global collaboration.”
